[GUIDA] Come si usa G-Business Extractor

Passo 1.

SCARICA e INSTALLA il programma G-Business Extractor. Una volta avviato vedrai la seguente schermata principale:

Seleziona Sorgente dati in alto a destra: potrai scegliere tra Google Maps (opzione impostata di default) e Bing Maps (ha il vantaggio di una cattura dati più veloce)

Poi dovrai scegliere cosa ricercare e la località. Clicca su ADD a sinistra sotto la sezione “Categories” per scrivere la tipologia dell’azienda da ricercare (es. pizzerie, pub, hotel, farmacie…). Nel nostro esempio supponiamo di voler ricercare “hotel”:

Puoi anche inserire più categorie, ad esempio se cerchi tutte le attività di ristorazione in una città, o in un singolo CAP, potrai inserire le seguenti categorie: bar, pasticceria, caffè, gelateria, pub, ristorante, ecc…

A destra, nella sezione “Locations” clicca sul bottone ADD per selezionare la Nazione, Regione, Provincia, Città o CAP in cui effettuare la ricerca (nel nostro esempio abbiamo inserito la città di Roma come zona di ricerca):

NB: Prima di iniziare la ricerca e l’estrazione, se desideri catturare anche gli indirizzi email, clicca in alto sul pulsante SETTINGS e poi accedi alla scheda DATA. A questo punto assicurati che sia selezionato il box “Extract emails from websites (Slow Process)” come è evidenziato nella figura seguente:

Altre opzioni disponibili sono:

AUTO EXPORT (attivo solo nella versione PRO): consente di accedere ad un file che cattura in automatico tutti i risultati in modo da evitare di perdere dati dopo una estrazione.

AUTO RESTART: opzione che consente di riavviare in automatico il programma in caso di chiusura o crash improvviso e di riprendere l’estrazione dal punto interrotto

THREADS: è il numero di processi in parallelo che il programma usa per estrarre i dati, per PC veloci puoi impostare un valore pari o superiore a 3, altrimenti va ridotto a 2.

Clicca su OK per ritornare alla schermata iniziale.

Passo 3.

Una volta deciso cosa e dove ricercare clicca sul bottone GET DATA per avviare la ricerca. Potrai interrompere la ricerca in qualsiasi momento cliccando sul bottone STOP. Alla fine della ricerca vedrai tutti i risultati nella schermata centrale del programma, come mostrato di seguito:

Clicca sulla destra su SELECT ALL e poi clicca sul pulsante EXPORT per procedere all’estrazione dei dati in un file di formato CSV. Questo file è facilmente importabile in excel (se non sai come fare leggi questo articolo)

NB: Nella versione DEMO del programma purtroppo l’export non è abilitato, infatti dopo 100 risultati estratti comparirà una finestra che ti chiede se vuoi acquistare la versione completa.

Per poter avere la funzionalità di EXPORT abilitata è necessario acquistare la licenza del programma. Per far ciò bisogna cliccare dal programma sul bottone presente in alto BUY oppure richiedi la versione completa del programma cliccando qui (senza limitazioni di dati estraibili e licenza valida per 1 anno).

NOTA 1. Se vedi parecchi risultati duplicati durante la cattura dei dati, vuol dire che il programma non trova altri risultati per quella parola chiave e località. In tal caso puoi fermare la ricerca ed estrapolare i risultati trovati. In ogni caso, se stai facendo delle ricerche di categorie aziendali “di nicchia” (ad esempio “Imprese di costruzione” o “tatuaggi”, ecc..) in una determinata città, ti consigliamo di accedere al menu SETTINGS e qui impostare 10 risultati per CAP (e non 30 come di default) nel campo “Results per zip code“.

NOTA 2. Il programma effettua un salvataggio automatico dei dati durante la cattura. Questo salvataggio automatico consente di non perdere dati se per caso il programma dovrebbe chiudersi improvvisamente. Per accedere ai dati salvati in automatico vai in SETTINGS e clicca sul pulsante APPDATA FOLDER. Si aprirà una cartella in cui troverai il file export.txt (con i dati salvati automaticamente per tutte le ricerche che hai fatto).

EXTRACT DATA FROM GOOGLE MAPS WITH G-BUSINESS EXTRACTOR

STEP 1. Download and Install G-Business Extractor on your PC. (It supports all Windows OS 64-bit). If you have a Mac please download it from this page.

This is the program’s main interface:

STEP 2. Select data source, category and location that you desire to scan.

First of all select Data Source at the top right: you can choose between Google Maps (the default option) and Bing Maps (which has the advantage of faster data capture)

Then click ADD button to add the category and the desided Location, from the top-left of the main interface.

About “location” windows, you will be able to select the Country, State, City and ZIP CODE:

Before starting the scan, click SETTINGS –> Data and set the data to export. If you desire to extract more email address please select the box “Extract emails from websites” as shown in figure below:

Other available options are:

AUTO EXPORT (only active in the PRO version): Allows you to access a file that automatically captures all results to avoid losing data after an extraction.

If you see a lot of duplicates during the capture it means that the tool does not find other results and you can STOP and EXTRACT data.
If you search for niche categories in a certain city we suggest you to follow these steps to avoid duplicates and to complete the task in few minutes.

STEP 1. Open the software and go in SETTINGS and set 5-10 results per zip code as shown below

STEP 2. Set the keyword and location. About the location you just need to select the city and select all zip codes.

STEP 3. Click GET DATA to start capture data

STEP 4. Export data and you will have no duplicates

Automatic Export and VPN

The program automatically saves data during capture. This automatic save allows you not to lose data if by chance the program should suddenly close. To access the automatically saved data, go to SETTINGS and click on the APPDATA FOLDER button. This will open a folder where you will find the export.txt file (with the automatically saved data for all the searches you have done).

This automatic export was introduced because after a few hours of work, Google could block the app. To reduce the risk of blocking, we recommend using VPN software that can dynamically change IPs every 10-20 minutes (for more info read this article)

Using G-Business Extractor for Mac is really simple. Here is a step by step guide.

STEP 1. DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION

After downloading the GBusinessExtractor.dmg file on your Mac, double-click it to install it. The following screen will open:

With the mouse, drag the G-Business Extractor folder into the Applications folder. This will install the app on your Mac.

To open the app, now click on the Applications folder and then right-click the G-Business Extractor icon and click on OPEN to confirm and open the app

Since this app is not downloaded from the App Store, it is normal that the Mac will initially prevent you from opening it by simply double-clicking it (because it will be “unidentified“). You will necessarily have to right-click on the G-Business Extractor text and then press OPEN. Or Ctrl-click the app icon, then choose Open from the context menu. Click Open. The app will be saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it, just like a whitelisted app.

STEP 2. INSTALL MOZILLA FIREFOX FOR MAC

For G-Business Extractor to work correctly and scan Google Maps pages, it is essential that Firefox is installed on your Mac. You can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/mac/

In this case, to install Firefox, just double click on the installation file (.dmg format)

STEP 3. SET CATEGORY AND LOCATION

After installing Mozilla Firefox on your Mac you can finally start using G-Business Extractor.

Press ADD CATEGORY at the top left to add the keywords or product category of your interest.

Then press on the right on ADD LOCATION to also enter the location in which to do the search and extract the data (from Google Maps)

You will have to select the country, the state, the city and possibly also the postal code if you want to do a targeted search. Alternatively you can also select just the country and a region and then search for results in that entire region.

The countries currently available and selectable in the program are: United States, Germany, France, Italy, India, Indonesia, Austria, Australia, France, Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, England, Denmark, Chile, Hungary, Ireland , Pakistan, Bangladesh, Romania, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, etc…

STEP 4. START DATA EXTRACTION

After setting the categories and locations, simply click on GET DATA and the program will begin to extrapolate all the data and display it in the table below. During the extraction you will notice that the program processes every single “Task” (relating to each postcode) and at the top right you can view the number of remaining tasks and the number of results already extrapolated.

STEP 5. DATA EXPORT

Once the data capture has been completed, to export it to your Mac, simply press the SELECT ALL button and then the EXPORT button. A window will open in which you can choose the name to give to the export file and the folder in which to save it. The file will be saved in CSV format by default and this file can be opened with a simple double click. It will open inside NUMBERS as you can see from the picture below

DEMO VERSION LIMITATIONS

The free demo version that you can use to understand how the program works has two limitations:

Extrapolate a maximum of 35 results per search
It does not allow you to export the results

Immediately after purchase you will receive an email containing the registration code to be inserted into the program to activate it. Activation must be done by clicking on the GBusiness Extractor menu and then pressing Register. A window will open in which you must enter your email and license code.

ADVANCED SETTINGS

By clicking on the GBusinessExtractor menu and then on SETTINGS, the following window with advanced settings will open. From this window you can do the following operations.

a) Enable or disable the extraction of email addresses from websites

b) Set the number of results for each postal code that you want to extract. It is advisable to set a number of 10-15 if you are searching over a very large location and if you want to avoid capturing many duplicates.

c) Set auto export, i.e. the data is automatically saved during capture. Here you can set the folder in which to save the file containing all the captured data.

Per aprire l’app, fai adesso click sulla cartella Applications e poi seleziona col tasto destro del mouse l’icona di G-Business Extractor e clicca su APRI per confermare e aprire l’app

Siccome questa app non viene scaricata dall’App Store, è normale che il Mac ti impedirà inizialmente di aprirla facendo un semplice doppio clic (perché risulterà “non identificata”). Dovrai necessariamente fare clic col tasto destro del mouse sulla scritta di G-Business Extractor e poi premere su APRI. Oppure fai clic sull’icona dell’app tenendo premuto il tasto Ctrl, quindi scegli Apri dal menu di scelta rapida. Fai clic su Apri. L’app verrà salvata come eccezione alle impostazioni sulla sicurezza e potrai aprirla in futuro facendo doppio clic su di essa, proprio come un’app autorizzata.

Ecco l’interfaccia principale di G-Business Extractor per Mac:

STEP 2. INSTALLA MOZILLA FIREFOX PER MAC

Affinchè G-Business Extractor funzioni correttamente e scansioni le pagine di Google Maps è indispensabile che sul tuo Mac sia installato Firefox. Puoi scaricarlo e installarlo da questa pagina: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/mac/

In questo caso per installare Firefox ti basterà fare doppio clic sul file di installazione (formato .dmg)

STEP 3. IMPOSTA CATEGORIA E LOCALITA’

Dopo aver installato Mozilla Firefox sul tuo Mac puoi finalmente iniziare ad usare G-Business Extractor.

Premi in alto a sinistra su ADD CATEGORY per aggiungere le parole chiave o la categoria merceologica di tuo interesse.

Premi poi a destra su ADD LOCATION per inserire anche la località in cui fare la ricerca e l’estrazione dei dati (da Google Maps)

Dovrai selezionare la nazione, lo stato, la città ed eventualmente anche il CAP se vuoi fare una ricerca mirata. In alternativa puoi anche selezionare solo la nazione e una regione per poi fare la ricerca dei risultati in tutta quella regione.

Le nazioni attualmente disponibili e selezionabili nel programma sono: Stati Uniti, Germania, Francia, Italia, India, Indonesia, Austria, Australia, Francia, Spagna, Argentina, Colombia, Belgio, Brasile, Canada, Inghilterra, Danimarca, Cile, Ungheria, Irlanda, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Romania, Portogallo, Sud Africa, Svezia, Svizzera, Turchia, ecc…

STEP 4. AVVIA ESTRAZIONE DATI

Dopo aver impostato le categorie e le località ti basterà fare clic su GET DATA e il programma inizierà a estrapolare tutti i dati e a visualizzarli nella tabella in basso. Durante l’estrazione noterai che il programma processa ogni singolo “Task” (relativo ad ogni CAP) e in alto a destra potrai visualizzare il numero dei task rimanenti e il numero di risultati già estrapolati.

STEP 5. EXPORT

Una volta che è stata completata la cattura dei dati, per esportarli sul tuo Mac ti basterà prima premere sul pulsante SELECT ALL e poi sul pulsante EXPORT. Si aprirà una finestra in cui potrai scegliere il nome da dare al file di export e la cartella in cui salvarlo. Il file verrà salvato di default in formato CSV e tale file può essere aperto con un semplice doppio clic. Si aprirà all’interno di NUMBERS come puoi vedere dalla figura qui sotto

LIMITAZIONI VERSIONE DEMO

La versione demo gratuita che potrai usare per capire il funzionamento del programma ha due limitazioni:

Estrapola massimo 35 risultati per ricerca
Non consente di fare l’export dei risultati

Per rimuovere questi limiti è necessario acquistare la licenza del software. Fai clic sul pulsante qui sotto per acquistare la licenza (valida 1 anno):

Subito dopo l’acquisto riceverai una email contenente il codice da registrazione da inserire all’interno del programma per attivarlo. L’attivazione va fatta cliccando sul menu GBusiness Extractor e poi premendo Register. Si aprirà finestra in cui bisogna inserire email e codice licenza.

Dopo l’attivazione è necessario chiudere e riaprire il programma per applicare le modifiche e utilizzare la versione PRO (senza limitazioni)

IMPOSTAZIONI AVANZATE

Cliccando sul menu GBusinessExtractor e poi su SETTINGS, si aprirà la seguente finestra con le impostazioni avanzate. Da questa finestra è possibile fare le seguenti operazioni.

a) Attivare o disattivare l’estrazione degli indirizzi email dai siti web

b) Impostare il numero di risultati per singolo CAP che si vogliono estrarre. E’ consigliabile impostare un numero pari a 10-15 se si fa una ricerca su una località molto ampia e se si vogliono evitare di catturare molti doppioni.

c) Impostare l’auto export, cioè i dati vengono salvati automaticamente durante la cattura. Qui potrai impostare la cartella in cui salvare il file contenente tutti i dati catturati.
